My name is Mindi and I‘m a mom to three amazing boys. I realized my passion for working with children when I was in nursing school and I fell in love with my pediatrics rotation at Seattle Children's Hospital. After graduating from Seattle University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree I went straight into working at Seattle Children's on the Medical/Surgical floor. It was while working here that I discovered a love of working with families and wanting to find a career path that allowed me to connect with families on a deeper level, support them in their new parenting journey, and offer them more than what I was able to during a hospital stay. I came across a job posting for a Maternity Support Services Nurse for our local health district and immediately applied. The next 16 years of my career were spent with the health district where I had the opportunity to work as a Maternity Support Services Nurse, Nurse Family Partnership Nurse, Children and Youth With Special Health Care Needs Nurse, Lactation Consultant and Creator of a community wide breastfeeding support campaign. I obtained my International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) certification in 2011. Having breastfed all three of my boys and experiencing the challenges of breastfeeding during stressful situations as my first born had a stay in the NICU following his birth I learned the importance of having good lactation support. I love supporting new parents as they navigate the ups and downs of parenting. I would love to meet you and help you reach your parenting and breastfeeding goals!
